Everyone can capture an idea now. A note, a voice memo, a message to an AI chat. What nobody solved is the next step. Between "I should fix that headline" and "the headline is fixed" stands one thing: the computer where your site, your code, your accounts and your files live. By the time you are back at it, the urge is gone, and the note becomes a tombstone.
Local Commander removes that distance. Your computers are connected to your AI chat, so the idea doesn't wait for you to get home. You send it as a task, approve it, and your own machine does the work, with your own files, logins and tools.
What one message can finish
- A small fix, shipped. "Change the number on the pricing page to 40 and deploy." The change goes from your phone to the live site.
- An article, published. "Write a post from this voice note in my usual tone and publish it on the blog." It is on the site by the time you are home.
- Research that ends in action. "Find who is asking about this problem this month and draft a reply for each." You come back to a list and ready drafts, not to a reminder to start.
- A big job, started. "Rework the export module across the project and run the tests." You start it on a walk and review the result at your desk.
The point is not the shortcut. The point is that you stop collecting ideas and start finishing them.
Why the computer matters
An AI chat on your phone can draft almost anything. It cannot publish to your site, sign in to your accounts or open the files on your work machine, because none of that lives on the phone. Your computer already has all of it. Local Commander lets the AI you use reach it.
Any AI, all your computers
Local Commander is the connection, not the AI. Use the model you like today and switch tomorrow: your computers stay connected. One chat reaches every machine you own, from the work laptop to the home PC and the office server, from your desk or your phone.
Setting it up
- Create an account at localcmd.app.
- Install the agent on each computer you want to reach:
npx local-commander-agent@latest, then approve the pairing. - Add Local Commander to your AI chat as a remote connector and sign in.
From then on, the next idea is one message away from done. The computer has to be on and online for the work to run, and you decide what each machine allows.
